Cool off with The Party Girl Diet’s Champagne Cocktail ~ The Sonoran Sipper

Stressed?  Check out – The Party Girl Diet’s “Sonoran Sipper,” a specialty drink recipe formulated to replace vitamins and minerals depleted by stress and hot, arid climates.

The Party Girl Diet’s “Sonoran Sipper” replenishes anti-oxidants that will help protect and repair your skin from damaging free radicals.  It was created to work well with The Party Girl Diet’s Overnight Makeover™  which is also featured in the following TV segments.

Pictured on left is the non-alcoholic “Mocktail” version of The Party Girl Diet’s Sonoran Sipper at the Arizona Biltmore Hotel’s Catalina Pool, rumored to be a favorite cool off spot of the late Marilyn Monroe.

Originally airing live on Sonoran Living  - Party Girl Diet Author Aprilanne Hurley created this healthy, anti-aging elixir with champagne – to add a “serotonin boost” and just the right amount of “sparkle” to have you “sipping pretty,” and enjoying the best of Sonoran Living (no matter where you live):

“Sonoran Sipper” Mocktail and/or Cocktail Recipe:

In cocktail shaker or tall glass filled with ice, combine the following ingredients:

1.5 oz. Prickly Pear Juice (1 jigger – for 2 drinks, reduce to 1 oz. for less dominant flavor of this fruit)

Experiment with the amount of prickly pear juice used to suit your taste.  For a sweeter drink, add up to a tsp. of natural honey if using pure prickly pear juice. Also, try the gourmet pre-sweetend varieties found in some grocers freezer sections.

1 cup Orange Juice – Vitamin D/Calcium Fortified

Juice of 1 fresh squeezed pink grapefruit or 1/2 cup of pink grapefruit juice

Juice of 1/2 a fresh lime

Shake well, and strain over ice into 2 chilled martini glasses – fill approx. 2/3 of the way full.

To make the Sonoran Sipper Champagne Cocktail  - top off each glass with a generous splash of your favorite champagne or sparkling wine (approximately 3 – 4 oz. each)

To make a refreshing non-alcoholic PGD Sonoran Sipper “Mocktail” substitute the champagne with 3 – 4 ounces of low-sugar tonic water or 3 – 4 ounces of a carbonated grapefruit juice flavored drink.

Garnish with an orange spiral – Enjoy!

NOTE:   The 1.5 ounces of Prickly Pear Juice can be replaced with 2 ounces of orange juice.
