Party Girl Diet Mock-Crust Quiche

Say hello to the easiest quiche crust recipe on the planet – oh and it’s super delish too…

Move over time consuming Bisquick and traditional quiche crust recipes – the Party Girl Diet’s 2 minute “Mock-Crust” recipe is in town to make dishing your next brunch a total breeze.

This Healthy Party Girl Diet Brunch Menu features the Party Girl Diet inspired “Mock-Crust” and quick “master quiche” recipe offering virtually a limitless amount of healthy quiche combination options.  Plus, get the inside look at how to serve up a perfect pitcher of the Party Girl Diet’s Sparkling Virgin Sangria.Traditionally, “brunch” is served as a combination of breakfast and lunch, and includes foods that would be served at both meals such as eggs, meats, fruits, and cheeses, and it is typically served after 10 AM – otherwise it would still be considered breakfast.

Brunch Beverages:  Drink options are also more elaborate, and in addition to tea and coffee, can include “day appropriate” alcoholic options such:

  • Party Girl Diet (Healthy) Bloody Marys – add a dash of turmeric, cayenne and squeeze of fresh lime to low sodium spicy V-8 style juice and a shot of your favorite vodka.
  • Champagne or Prosecco Mimosas offer a boost of stress reducing vitamin C
  • Party Girl Diet’s Signature Sparkling Virgin Sangria

Naturally, virgin renditions of the above popular drinks are also great to offer, as well as the Party Girl Diet’s Sparkling Virgin Sangria demonstrated in the video below:

The beauty of serving brunch is to offer guests a variety of foods and beverages to chose from in a comfortable, casual, buffet-style setting wherein they are welcome to serve themselves.  Make the Party Girl Diet’s Sparkling Virgin Sangria recipe the night before and surprise your guests with a beautiful and delicious pitcher if non-alcholic sangria they can help themselves to throughout the meal.  The Party Girl Diet’s Sparkling Virgin Sangria is great for everyone, pregnant women, children, etc as it is non-alcoholic and brimming with antioxidants.

For the Main Course:  Quiche is the perfect brunch entree as it offers the ability to include many foods that will satisfy the most hearty of appetites. The Party Girl Diet’s Easy Master Quiche Recipe below is “crustless,” which offers a delicious alternative quiche recipe with less carbohydrates, fat, and calories than a quiche with a buttery crust. In addition, it offers you endless combinations of your favorite veggies, lean meats, and low fat cheeses. You can also put the filling recipe below in a frozen pie shell if you want to make a traditional quiche with a crust, or, you can follow our “quick crust” recipe at the bottom of this page, if you want to make your own crust.

Party Girl Diet’s Master Crustless Quiche Recipe

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Quiche Mock-Crust Ingredients:

  • Approximately a 1/2 cup Panko (Japanese) Breadcrumbs or plain breadcrumbs (Add to melted butter/olive oil slowly to coat well)
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter plus 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Seasonings such as sea salt, garlic powder and fresh cracked black pepper to taste

2 MInute Party Girl Diet Mock-Crust Method:

  1. Spray glass baking dish (or non-stick metal) with Olive Oil or Butter spray to coat bottom of dish
  2. Press in breadcrumb mixture evenly on bottom and up sides to create mock-crust (can be very thin – the egg mixture below will act as a filler)

Master Egg Mixture for Quiche:

1 cup fat free half and half or low fat milk (or even water but use 50% less)
5 cage free, organic eggs
1/8 teaspoon sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Dash of cayenne for a metabolism boost, and/or spices of choice

Fillings:

  • 2 to 3 cups prepared vegetables, such as red swiss chard, spinach, red onions, mushrooms, assorted colored peppers, sun-dried, fresh, or canned diced tomatoes.
  • 4 ounces, or about 1 cup grated or crumbled cheese, such as goat cheese, Gruyere, cheddar, Parmesan, fontina, provolone, mozzarella, Gouda, (always choose low-fat if you are watching your weight, and try combining a few cheese varieties to create a tasty combination of textures and flavors).
  • 1 to 4 tablespoons chopped fresh herbs of choice such as rosemary, chives, basil, dill, etc.
  • 3/4 cup chopped crisp turkey bacon, diced lean ham, or canadian bacon (substitue with more veggies if you don’t want to include meat).
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, optional, this is good to use with vegetables that release liquid during cooking, such as spinach and zucchini

Method:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Whisk the fat free half-and-half, eggs and yolks in large glass measuring cup.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and cayenne or spice of choice to taste.
  • Spread half the desired filling evenly in the pan, top with about half the cheese; repeat with remaining filling and cheese. Pour the egg mixture over the fillings. Top with more herbs or cheese as desired.

Bake until the quiche is firm (no loose egg mixture) in the center, about 40 to 50 minutes, yet begin checking at 20 – 30 minutes, as ovens types and altitudes may vary cooking times needed. Cool to room temperature on a rack before serving.

Party Girl Diet Custom Quiche suggestions are:

  • Broccoli and Cheddar Cheese with braised mushrooms and onions
  • Braised Swiss Chard and leeks with goat cheese and chopped greek olives
  • Turkey Bacon and Swiss Cheese with chopped spinach and garlic
  • Ham and Cheddar Cheese with braised arugula and artichoke hearts

For special occasions, serve with mimosas by combining fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne or sparkling wine in glass flutes, or spicy bloody marys made with 8 ounces low sodium tomato juice to one serving of vodka (1.5 ounces 80 proof spirits, or 1 ounce 100 proof spirits) blended with some fresh horseradish, squeeze of fresh lemon, and garnished with a celery stalk or pimento stuffed green olives.

Healthy Party Girl Side Dish Suggestions:

  • Prepare a bowl of colorful, fresh fruit salad
  • Toss up a dark leafy green salad with chopped veggies of choice
  • Put out a basket of whole grain rolls, high fiber wraps and baked crackers
  • Display a platter of assorted grilled veggies

Also, if your quiche is vegetarian and you are serving meat-eaters – a nice way to go is to include a plate of lean turkey or chicken sausage links, peppered bacon slices, or canadian bacon slices. Don’t forget to include a few healthy dessert options such as organic strawberries dipped in dark chocolate, and The Party Girl Diet’s Super Skinny Fudge – Enjoy! Aprilanne

Pasta Puttanesca: An easy dish with a spicy past

There are as many interesting stories surrounding the history of this dish as there are ingredients in it! Pasta Puttanesca originated in Naples, and is translated as “whore’s or harlot’s pasta.”

One explanation for the name is that the sauce has a spicy, hot flavor and smell.

Another explanation is that supposedly this pasta was made back in the day in “massage parlors” and brothels, because it was a cheap meal that could be made quickly to keep men happy while they waited their turn. Other stories also say the harlots would place a freshly cooked batch of this dish on their window sills to attract new customers…
